Played at Honolulu’s Waialae Country Club since its inception as the Hawaiian Open in 1965, the PGA’s Sony Open returns through January 16. Defending champion Kevin Na and other contenders like Jimmy Walker and Hideki Matsuyama are competing for the $7.5 million purse. The state’s largest golf fundraiser has donated $22 million to Hawaiian charities.
