Edith Kanakaʻole Quarter
One of Oahu’s most treasured icons is being honored by the U.S. Mint. Edith Kanakaʻole is the seventh woman for its American Women Quarters Program. Known as Aunty Edith, she championed the preservation of Hawaiian culture from chants to hula to the land. Her image is complemented with the inscription "E hō mai ka ʻike," which means “granting the wisdom.”
