The James Beard Foundation for culinary excellence announced six restaurants and one bakery in Hawaii as semifinalists for its 2024 awards ceremony in June. Honolulu chefs eligible for the finalist round are Ki Chung (Bar Māze), Nae Ogawa (natuRe Waikiki), Andrew Le (The Pig & the Lady) and Jason Peel (Nami Kaze). Honolulu’s Breadshop is the state’s sole bakery to make the cut.
