Just in time for Chinese New Year, James Beard-nominated chef Tony Xu unveiled Mian & Bao in Ward Village. His menu’s mix of Sichuan street fare and Shanghai comfort food has been a welcome addition to Oahu’s Asian culinary scene. Head to the Kaimukī neighborhood’s Totoya for kaisendon (Japanese seafood rice bowls) featuring fresh catch imported from Japan and other hits like crab miso soup.
