Welcome to Aina Haina

Aina Haina is a family-friendly community nestled along the oceanfront between Waialae Iki Ridge and Hawaii Loa Ridge. Aina Haina translates to Hind’s Land in Hawaiian, and the community is named for Robert Hind a dairy farm owner who resided here in the 1920s. Aina Haina has a friendly small-town feel with local shops and restaurants. There are two beach parks in the community, and the outstanding snorkeling spot at Hanauma Bay is nearby. The Kalaniana’ole Highway hugs the oceanfront and connects Aina Haina to Waikiki six miles to the west.

Aina Haina’s real estate mix mostly consists of single-family homes. Many enjoy enough elevation to provide captivating mountain and ocean views.

Things to Do

There are several trails around Aina Haina, and they are usually quiet and uncrowded. Wiliwilinui Ridge Hiking Trail provides some of the best views, with incredible vistas over Hanauma Bay, Diamond Head, and Pearl Harbor. The trail is dog-friendly and is suitable for mountain biking. The area traversed by the trail is teeming with wildlife, including 32 bird species.

Homes are close to the Kawaikui Beach Park and Wailupe Beach Park. The small sandy beach at Kawaikui Park is mostly used by fishermen and relaxing locals, and this quiet area is one of the best places on Oahu to see the sunrise. Wailupe Beach Park is also popular with fishermen, as the water remains shallow quite far from the shoreline. This also makes Wailupe more suitable for paddling and surfing than swimming or snorkeling.
